About Me

I am an enthusiastic piano teacher with 25 years experience. I am new to Lawrence, Kansas from Oxford, England. All experience levels are warmly welcomed, especially adult beginners! I’ve had great success with children who didn’t enjoy piano lessons the first time around.

I have trained at USC, Juilliard, & University of East London, and have performed in the United States, England and Mexico. You will play your lessons on a well-tuned grand piano overlooking a beautiful lake. My rates are affordable and there is no charge for the first lesson!

Piano Studio

The piano is the love of my life! I have devoted over 25 years to passing on this great tradition to the next generation. I performed my first piano solo with an orchestra at age 10, and the excitement of piano playing has never left me.

From beginning to advanced levels, I especially welcome adult beginners. I seem to have a knack for inspiring children who did not enjoy piano lessons the first time around.

Genuine learning takes place in an environment of trust and mutual respect. I am not an overbearing, scary teacher. I want your lessons to be fun and rewarding.

You are invited to attend a 'get acquainted' lesson for which there is no charge. My lesson fees are reasonable and affordable.

Piano Tuning

I learned piano tuning at age 16 and was first employed by a Wichita piano dealer at 17.

During my 23 years living in England, I worked for Steinway & Sons, tuning Steinway concert grand pianos in all of the major London concert and recording venues: Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Abbey Road Studios, BBC Broadcasting House, and the Barbican Center.

Now located in Lawrence, Kansas, I am ready to assist you with your piano needs:

I will tune your piano and make any needed repairs: replace broken strings, fix squeaking pedals and mend broken action parts.

I do not undertake major restorations; I specialize in tuning and I will not leave your home until I am satisfied that your piano is sounding its best.

I tune by ear and do not rely on electronic tuning devices.

When tuning church pianos, the piano will be tuned to the pitch of the organ so they will sound in tune with each other.

My fee for piano tuning is $90. Repairs may or may not incur further charges depending on the time required.
